First came the Makai Course, designed by famed master architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Jones' Makai Course was on Golf Digest's list of the best American golf courses for seventeen years. The Prince Course.

When Trent Jones was brought back to design a second golf course, Princeville gave him a chunk of roller-coaster land which swung from bluff to valley to bluff again. When it was completed, even Jones admitted it was his "masterpiece." No less an authority than Golf Digest has named the Prince Course Hawaii's #1-rated golf course while ranking it number 43 on its very prestigious list of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
