An Important Update to Ensure Your Wellbeing

1/5/2021 Update:

As you prepare for your upcoming trip, please be aware that the County of Kaua‘i has announced new requirements related to COVID-19 for inbound travelers. Please review the requirements below before you depart for your upcoming vacation to Hanalei Bay Resort.

Kaua‘i Travel Requirements

Travelers flying to Kaua‘i directly from the mainland are subject to a mandatory 10-day quarantine. However, the 10-day quarantine can be avoided by following one of two processes listed below.

By following either option listed, you would be eligible to stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. If required to quarantine, travelers will not be permitted to check-in at Hanalei Bay Resort and will be responsible for any related expenses that may be incurred, as Hanalei Bay Resort is not a quarantine facility nor a Resort Bubble. We are committed to the health and safety of its Owners, Guests and Associates, and will follow all State and County guidelines.

OPTION ONE:

Travelers flying to Kaua‘i from O‘ahu, Maui, Lanai, or the Big Island of Hawai‘i, who have been in the State of Hawai‘i for more than 72 hours before departing for Kaua‘i, can avoid quarantine by taking the following steps:

  1. Create a Safe Travels account and complete the mandatory State of Hawai‘i Travel and Health Form.
  2. Take a pre-travel test from a Trusted Testing and Travel Partner after you have been in Hawai‘i for more than 3 days, but within 72 hours of arriving on Kaua‘i.
  3. Upload negative test results to your Safe Travels account. Travelers are encouraged to also carry a hard copy of their negative test result for review at Līhu’e Airport. Safe Travels records will be used to verify that you have not traveled out of state in the past three days.
  4. Complete the County of Kaua‘i Arrival Form prior to arrival on Kaua‘

Please note that other travel requirements may apply when flying from the mainland to O‘ahu, Maui, Lanai and the Big Island of Hawai‘i, prior to your arrival on Kaua‘i. We encourage you to stay up to date by visiting https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/.

OPTION TWO:

Travelers from out-of-state now have the option of a shortened 3-day quarantine by participating in the Resort Bubble post-travel testing program. To qualify, travelers must do the following:

  1. Create a Safe Travels account and complete the mandatory State of Hawai‘i Travel and Health Form.
  2. Take a pre-travel test within 72 hours of your departure to Kaua‘i. This test can be any COVID-19 diagnostic test (antigen or PCR test) with emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The lab does not need to be on the State’s Trusted Testing and Travel Partners list for use in Kaua‘i’s Resort Bubble program.
  3. Make a reservation at an approved Enhanced Movement Quarantine (EMQ), also known as a “Resort Bubble” hotel on Kaua‘i:
  • The Cliffs at Princeville
  • The Club at Kukui‘ula
  • Ko‘a Kea Hotel & Resort at Poʻipū
  • Hilton Garden Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay
  • Kaua‘i Marriott Resort & Beach Club
  • Timbers Kaua‘i Ocean Club & Residences at Hoku‘ala
  1. Complete the County of Kaua‘i Arrival Form prior to arrival on Kaua‘i.
  2. After quarantining for 3 days at your Resort Bubble, take a post-travel test. Guests should consult the Resort Bubble where they have made a reservation on post-travel testing options. Resort Bubble staff will verify your negative post-travel test result and will update the system to release you from quarantine. Note: Guests should also consult their Resort Bubble for transportation options, as travelers will not be allowed to rent a car until released from quarantine. You will need to provide proof of your negative pre-travel test result to the Resort Bubble staff upon check-in.

Checking-In at the Resort

Upon arrival at the Resort, a Guest Service Agent will ensure that the Terms of Registration have been accepted. You will be asked to provide documentation proving that all persons in your party are not subject to quarantine (i.e. your negative test results, etc.), as well as sign a written confirmation stating that neither you nor anybody in your party are subject to quarantine. Once the registration form has been completed and verification that no one in your party is subject to quarantine, you will be checked-in. If you or anyone in your party are subject to quarantine, you will not be able to check-in. If you are concerned you will not be able to meet the requirements listed above, we encourage you to make alternative reservations as a precaution.

In compliance with CDC and State recommendations, we are asking all Owners and Guests to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing when entering common areas of the Resort. We also encourage you to use the hand sanitizer stations that have been placed throughout the property. Large gatherings in common areas are not permitted. Should you desire more space to entertain family and friends, we are available to recommend local parks in the area.

If you experience a delay or disruption during your travels and need to speak to the Front Desk to make arrangements for late check-in, please call (808) 826-6522. Again, as Government policies continue to evolve surrounding travel to and between the Hawaiian Islands, please ensure you stay up-to-date on the latest at https://hawaiicovid19.com/.

Thank you for choosing Hanalei Bay Resort as your vacation destination. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
