An Important Update to Ensure Your Wellbeing

EFFECTIVE 2/1/21:

Aloha!

As you prepare for your upcoming trip, please be aware that the County of Kaua‘i has issued travel restriction proclamations and your upcoming reservation falls into one of three categories:

  1. Resort Bubble Participant (transpacific traveler)
    1. Click here for Resort Bubble Guidelines and Requirements. (transpacific travelers are defined as traveling across the Pacific Ocean directly to Kaua‘i)
    2. Create a Safe Travels account and complete the mandatory State of Hawai‘i Travel and Health Form.
    3. Take a pre-travel test within 72 hours of your departure to Kaua‘i. This test can be any COVID-19 diagnostic test (antigen or PCR test) with emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The lab does not need to be on the State’s Trusted Testing and Travel Partners list for use in Kaua‘i’s Resort Bubble program.
    4. Complete the County of Kaua‘i Arrival Form prior to arrival on Kaua‘i.

  1. Inter-Island Traveler
    1. To qualify as an inter-island traveler, a person is required to be physically present in the State of Hawai‘i for more than 72 hours before flying to Kaua‘i.
    2. Inter-island travelers are able to avoid the 10-day quarantine by participating in the Hawai‘i Safe Travels program with proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from a Trusted Testing and Travel Partner administered less than 72 hours before inter-island travel. Once received, upload your test results to the Safe Travels program before departure.
    3. Complete the County of Kaua‘i Arrival Form prior to arrival on Kaua‘

  1. Kauai Residents or Visitors Who Have Already Fulfilled Quarantine Requirements
    1. If you are a Kaua‘i resident, or are a visitor who has already fulfilled quarantine requirements, you are eligible to stay at Hanalei Bay Resort without the need to quarantine and take a post-travel test. Upon check-in, you will be required to provide documentation proving you are not subject to quarantine (i.e. travel itinerary, etc.).

If you are unsure of what category you fall into, please reference the travel flow-chart by clicking here.

Please note: If you elect not to participate in either the EMQ (Resort Bubble) or Safe Travels programs you will be subject to the full 10-day quarantine without a post-travel testing opportunity and will not be able to stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. Additionally, we have received inquiries regarding potential exemptions from quarantine for those who have had the vaccine. At this time, the vaccine does not exempt anyone from quarantine in the State of Hawai’i.

Checking-In at the Resort

Upon arrival at the Resort, a Guest Service Agent will ensure that the Terms of Registration have been accepted. You will be asked to provide documentation proving your eligibility to stay at Hanalei Bay Resort (i.e. your travel itinerary, your negative test results, etc.), as well as sign a written confirmation stating that neither you nor anybody in your party are subject to a 10 -day quarantine. Once the registration form has been completed and verification that no one in your party is subject to the 10-day quarantine, you will be checked-in. If you or anyone in your party are subject to the full 10-day quarantine, you will not be able to check-in. If you are concerned you will not be able to meet the requirements listed above, we encourage you to make alternative reservations as a precaution.

In compliance with CDC and State recommendations, we are asking all Owners and Guests to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing when entering common areas of the Resort. We also encourage you to use the hand sanitizer stations that have been placed throughout the property. Large gatherings in common areas are not permitted. Should you desire more space to entertain family and friends, we are available to recommend local parks in the area.

If you experience a delay or disruption during your travels and need to speak to the Front Desk to make arrangements for late check-in, please call (808) 826-6522. Again, as Government policies continue to evolve surrounding travel to and between the Hawaiian Islands, please ensure you stay up-to-date on the latest at https://hawaiicovid19.com/.

Thank you for choosing Hanalei Bay Resort as your vacation destination. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
